Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of this website and any work you hire Advanced South Gate Concrete to do. When you browse the site, ask for an estimate or sign off on a job with us, you agree to them.
If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work with us. If a written estimate or contract we sign with you says something different from this page, the signed document wins for that job.
What we do
Advanced South Gate Concrete is a concrete contractor based in South Gate, CA. We build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, pool decks, garage floors, retaining walls, footings and foundations, along with stamped and decorative concrete, concrete cutting and foundation raising. You can see the full list on our home page, and read more about our crew on our About page.
What's on this site is general information to help you understand the work. It isn't a promise about your job. The work we'll do for you is only what's written in your estimate or contract.
Estimates and pricing
We give free quotes on site, and getting one doesn't obligate you to anything. The estimate is based on what we can see and measure that day, like the size of the area, the thickness of the slab, how much old concrete comes out, access for our trucks, and the finish you pick.
Some things only show up once the old slab is out or the digging starts, such as soft or wet soil under the slab, buried roots, old footings or pipes. If we find something like that and it changes the work or the price, we'll stop, show you, and get your okay before we go further.
An estimate stays good for the time written on it. After that, material and labor costs may have moved, so we'll recheck the numbers before we schedule.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We set a start date with you once you approve the estimate. Concrete depends on the weather, so we may move a pour if rain, high heat or wind would hurt the finished slab, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.
Your new concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens and gains strength before it can take weight. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk on and when it's safe to drive on, and we aren't responsible for damage caused by using it sooner.
If you need to cancel or move your date, call us at (213) 643-0035 as early as you can. If we've already ordered materials or set forms for your job, your contract may let us charge for those costs.
Payment
Your contract sets out how much is due, when, and what forms of payment we take. Payments are due on the dates it lists.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's caught up. Any change you ask for once work has started gets written down and priced before we do it, so the final bill doesn't surprise anyone.
Permits and your property
Some concrete work may need a permit from your city. Your contract will say who is responsible for getting it, and you can check with your city's building office if you're not sure.
You agree to tell us what you know about your property before we start, like where sprinkler lines, utility lines, septic or drainage pipes run, and where your property line is. We aren't responsible for damage to lines or items that weren't marked or that we had no reasonable way to know about.
What concrete can and can't promise
Concrete can crack. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give the slab a place to crack in a straight line, and we dig out and pack the base so the slab doesn't settle with loose dirt. Those steps lower the risk, but no contractor can promise a slab that never cracks.
Hairline cracks, small color differences between pours, and changes caused by soil movement, tree roots, standing water, heavy vehicles, de-icing products or lack of upkeep are not defects in our work. Any warranty for your job is the one written in your contract, and beyond that, the work and this website are provided without other warranties, to the extent California law allows.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim tied to a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We aren't liable for indirect losses, such as lost use of your driveway, lost income or other costs that follow from a problem.
We're fully licensed and insured, and nothing on this page limits any responsibility the law says we can't limit, or any right California law gives you that can't be waived.
If we disagree
If something isn't right, tell us first, because most problems get fixed fastest when we can come out and look. You can reach us through our contact page.
If we can't settle it between us, we both agree to try mediation before going to court. If it still isn't settled, any case will be heard in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
Governing law
These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page from time to time. The version posted here when you use the site or sign a contract is the one that applies, and changes don't reach back to jobs already under contract.
If you have questions about these terms, call us at (213) 643-0035 or use our contact page.
